The Accessible Books Project began with a simple question: why should loving stories and being able to comfortably read a physical book be two different things?
We’re researching the experiences of people who find traditional physical books difficult to read and exploring what could make reading more accessible, comfortable and enjoyable.
We’re not beginning with a predetermined solution. We’re beginning by listening to readers, families, educators and professionals — and allowing the research to guide what comes next.
To better understand the barriers people experience when reading physical books and explore how thoughtful, evidence-informed design could help make reading more accessible and enjoyable.
A future where every reader has the opportunity to enjoy a physical book in a format that feels comfortable, welcoming and accessible to them.
